- 75 ml
- 3 tbsp
- dark chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate
Directions
- Step 1
- Cake
Generously butter four ¾-cup (180 ml) ramekins and dust with cocoa powder.
- Step 2
- In a bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt.
- Step 3
- In another bowl, cream the butter, sugar and vanilla with an electric mixer. Add the egg and mix until smooth. With the machine running on low speed or with a wooden spoon, stir in the dry ingredients. Add the chocolate chips and mix well. Divide the batter among the ramekins.
- Step 4
- Place the ramekins in the basket of an air fryer. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes at 350°F (180°C) or until a toothpick inserted in the centre of a cake comes out clean. Remove the basket from the air fryer and let sit for 5 minutes or let cool longer before removing the ramekins from the basket.
- Step 5
- Chocolate Sauce
Meanwhile, in a small pot off the heat, whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar and cornstarch. Whisk in the milk. Add the chocolate. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens and the chocolate melts. Keep warm as needed.
- Step 6
- Run a blade between the cakes and the ramekins. While the cakes are still hot, turn over onto plates to unmould. Cover with the chocolate sauce. Serve immediately with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
